The Cross 101

Was Jesus murdered ?

Was Jesus framed for a crime that He didn’t commit ?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

The Father gave.

“So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me. And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” John 8:28,29

“Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me.” John 14:29-31

Jesus obeyed the will of the Father. He obeyed His commandment.

“I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” John 6:51

“For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.” John 10:17,18

It was His choice to die. His choice.

“I and the Father are one.” John 10:30

“If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 1:17-21

“All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8

The cross was chosen before Man was created.

The Jews wanted Jesus dead.

Satan incited the crucifixion.

Sin screamed for it.

But Jesus was not murdered. He was not convicted of a crime that he did not commit.

Beware of teachers who add human reasoning and philosophy to the Word of God. Beware of teachers who view the Word through their “isms”. “Isms” steal the glory from God.

The Word is understandable to all. The cross is available and understandable to all. No vain imaginations, false teaching, or human philosophy needed.
Too many teachers/prophets/pastors only care about appearing spiritual, sounding spiritual, and recruiting like “spiritually” minded folks.
They are building towers to themselves and their philosophies.
Mini Babels. Facebook Babels. Supernatural Bible School Babels. Beware.

The truth is that saying Jesus Christ was murdered steals glory from God.
The truth is that saying Jesus Christ was framed for a crime He didn’t commit steals glory from God.

It doesn’t matter how spiritual it sounds. Or how spiritual the person sounds who says it…..if it steals glory from God….if it puts the spotlight on man or man’s reasoning….it is against Christ.

There is a spirit at work in the church that diminishes the glory of God and the Word of God. Beware.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Phillipians 2

The cross was born of relationship…eternal and glorious…and a bit hard for us to fully comprehend. That’s why we have His Word.
The cross was a commandment and an act of obedience.
The cross is a pattern and an example.
The cross is the revelation of the nature of God.
The cross is the revelation of His love.

It all begins with Him.

If it doesn’t… it’s against Him.
