If the writings of a “prophet” seem to be like daily horoscope readings…..then maybe they are.
A “prophet” who “prophecies” his eschatology is a manipulator and a merchandiser.
A teacher or prophet who “prophecies” the filter through which he views passages of Scripture is a mind controller.
Stop chasing “prophetic words” and start reading the Word (like you did before you got caught up in the “prophetic”).
Hans Christian Anderson exposed many of todays “prophets” in 1837 when he released “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Please cry out children, please !
As a general rule, Christians like to be told what to think….by those who are more “spiritual” or are “closer” to God than they are.
I have news for you…not one “prophet” is going to stand next to you at the Judgment Seat of Christ
and take the blame
or defend you
or explain your life or lack thereof
If you find yourself quoting the leader of a movement or your favorite prophet or pastor more than the Word of God…..you may be starstruck.
True edification, exhortation, and comfort will touch the inner man….it will open the path of sanctification and wholeness. A new understanding and grasp of the cross will follow.
False edification, exhortation, and comfort will magnify the man…his intellect…his will…or his emotions. The end result will be the glory of man.
Jeremiah 5:31 “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?”
Revelation 3: 17,18 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
